Joining BDBC starts with a simple profile. 

• Share your favorite genres or authors to help up make great book selections  and pair you with a great match!

• Once you sign up, you'll receive our newsletter with updates, future event details, and some of our favorite book recommendations!

• Once we have enough members - we're striving for quality dates over quantity of members - we'll send out blind date invitations, the book selection, and RSVP requests. 

• When you RSVP, we require members to submit a photo for safety purposes.  Your photo will not be shared. 

A speciate note about your privacy  - All member information, including photos will never be shared publicly or with other members. 

• Grab the Book of the Month from your favorite bookstore or local library—maybe you’ll bump into your blind date!

• Members will have 2 - 3 weeks to read the book before you'll receive your final RSVP confirmation. 

• Not loving the book? Didn't have time to finish?? Don’t worry - your blind date is still on! We’ll use your RSVP feedback to make a great match.  (Think: Your blind date may not have liked the book either!)

• About a week before your blind date, you'll receive a message from BDBC with details about your blind date and a final RSVP confirmation. Please confirm so no one gets stood up!

• If you cannot attend after RSVPing, please let us know in advance so we can notify your date or adjust plans. Respecting other's time is part of what makes BDBC special!

Our dates are designed to keep things low-pressure and fun:

• Where: Public spaces like independent bookstores, coffee shops, or cozy restaurant meeting areas.

• When You Arrive: Your date begins! Just like going to dinner, you'll be seated with your blind date. You'll receive book club conversation starters and fun, interactive activities to use, if you choose! This time is yours - be yourself, have fun!

• Duration: Blind dates are kept short and sweet - just 45 minutes.

• What's Next: Is it a match?  Great - Keep the conversation going as long as your like.  No so sure... join the group for a meet and mingle.  Stay as long as you like.  

We hope your blind date exceeds your expectation!  Whether it's platonic or something more if you would like to connect with your match but did not exchenge contact information, we can help.  

After each event, you'll receive a feedback form.  If you are interested in reconnecting with your blind date, let us know! Here's the catch... your date must also express interest.  We only share member contact information when there is mutual consent!
